What is Giclée?
Giclée refers to a type of printing using high quality archival inks and archival paper. This process creates precise color and increases longevity.
All prints are created in the studio by the artist: approved, printed, trimmed, individually signed, and packaged with care. I take pride in using the highest quality archival paper and inks to produce giclée art prints to last a lifetime. With proper care, giclée prints will retain brilliant colors and detail for up to 100 years in average home conditions.
How do I care for & handle giclee prints?
- Unpack with care. Remove any tape from the packaging.
- Handle by the edges. Clean, dry hands are best, as oils from your fingers can affect the paper over time.
- Support your print with both hands. This helps prevent bending or creasing.
- Keep the surface dust free. Avoid wiping the print, as this can scratch the surface. If needed, gently blow away dust or carefully shake off print.
- Let it breathe. Once unpacked, allow your print to rest outside its tube or mailer before framing.
- Store with care. For long term storage, choose archival materials rather than cardboard or shipping tubes. Your mailer can be reused or recycled!
How to store & exhibit?
- Choose archival framing materials. To help keep your print looking its best for years to come, use archival mat board and backing, and consider UV protective glass or acrylic.
- Keep away from moisture and condensation. While the inks are somewhat water resistant, water can still damage your print.
- Avoid direct sunlight and strong fumes. Sunlight can cause fading over time, while freshly painted walls, new rugs, and other sources of fumes may cause discoloration. If you’d like to display your print in a sunny spot, UV protective glass or acrylic can offer extra protection.
What frame size? Mat or no mat?
No Mat: Most of my prints aren’t a standard size, but I include a border so they’re designed to go straight into a frame without needing a mat. The paper size will match the frame size.
Mat: Choosing a mat can help fill out a wall even more and make it feel more grand. You can find my recommendations or matted sized below. Keep in mind if you decide to choose a mat you, you will need to get it professionally matted or cut a mat.

Professionally framed or do it yourself?
I highly recommend getting your prints professionally framed by a local framing store, but above are some perfectly good non-budget-breaking-online framing options.
